A Sightyard module
Every USPH requirement. By phase, by area.
A free web app for cruise ship teams. It sets out the CDC Vessel Sanitation Program 2025 requirements from plan review to operation, with a short check text for each. Inspect on board, record findings, print the report.
Free for users. No login needed to start. Works offline once loaded.
Part of Sightyard
USPH is the public health module of Sightyard. Same team, same standards as the cabin module for cruise newbuilds.
Works on its own
No Sightyard project and no contract needed. Open it in the browser and start with any area.
Free for users
Requirements, check texts, inspection and report cost nothing. A free account adds PDF export, photos and sync.
The source
Two CDC documents, sorted for the people who work with them.
The VSP 2025 Construction Standards apply to newbuilds and major renovations. The VSP 2025 Environmental Public Health Standards apply to the ship in operation.
Sightyard USPH splits both into single requirements and sorts them by phase and CDC area. You see what applies to the galley in Commissioning, not the whole document.
- 1,009
- requirements from the Construction Standards
- 587
- requirements from the Environmental Public Health Standards
- 25

How it checks
The CDC text decides.
Every requirement shows the CDC wording it comes from. The check texts explain how to verify it. They never add a duty, a record or a frequency.
Independent reviewers checked every requirement, daily check and quiz question against the CDC text, in several rounds.
- "Should" in the CDC text stays "Recommended". It never becomes a duty.
- Section numbers refer to the 2025 editions as published by CDC.
- "Critical" marks a construction requirement linked to a critical item of the operational inspection.
- VSP decides. The app helps you prepare. It does not replace plan review or inspection.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by CDC.
Logical food flow without cross-traffic or backtracking
criticalHow to check
Walk the food route from provisions to service on board. Doors, corridors and equipment positions must allow the planned flow, with cross-traffic and backtracking eliminated or kept to a minimum.
CDC text, 6.1.1
Arrange the flow of FOOD through a vessel in a logical sequence that eliminates or minimizes cross-traffic or backtracking.
